This 200-acre park was donated to Douglas County by Ms. Annie Mae Clinton. The park is required by Ms. Clinton’s will to remain in its natural state as much as possible. The park contains nature trails and open exploration areas.

PlaygroundA half-mile walking track encircles the Junior League Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible playground, the first of its kind in Douglas County.

Carnes CabinLocated just a one-mile hike into the woods is the Carnes Cabin, a pre-Civil War residence, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

HoursThe park is open seven days a week during daylight hours.

ReservationsDouglas County Park facilities may be reserved in person during general hours of operation. Unless otherwise reserved, all Douglas County outdoor park facilities are available on a first-come first-serve basis.

Payment in the form of cash, check or credit card must be made in full at the time of registration/reservation. You can bring your payment to the reservation office at:

The office is open Monday through Saturday, 8 am to 8 pm and Sundays 1 to 6 pm. Guest Services is located in the Deer Lick Activity Center. 

PavilionsThere are four pavilions available for rental at the Clinton Nature Preserve. The most popular one is located next to the playground and is great for birthday parties and family reunions. There is also one below the Clinton House that can accommodate larger groups up to 50 people. There are two more single picnic tables available for rentals as well.

CampoutsThe Clinton Nature Preserve is available to non-profit groups for campouts (e.g. Boy Scouts). Campouts must be reserved in advance by filling out a reservation form.
